Spectacular makeover of Adgar Park West completed in record time of 136 days

Dec. 2, 2014

The Adgar Group has officially launched its spectacularly made-over Adgar Park West office complex which now features AdgarFit, a unique sports and leisure zone. The immense refurbishment task was completed in an extremely short space of time. One of the most stunning features of Adgar Park West is the new five-storey glass façade, the new face of the building looking onto Aleje Jerozolimskie. Another extraordinary feature is the glow-in-the-dark running track, which does not freeze over and can be used safely for training all year round. It is the first running track using this technology in continental Europe. Adgar Park West includes three office buildings offering a total of 44,600 sq m. of space. The exteriors and common interior spaces have been completely refurbished according to design concepts by the award-winning Hermanowicz Rewski Architects.

“The work on Adgar Park West has been an extraordinarily unique project – what we see today has exceeded even my expectations, especially when one takes into consideration the space of time it was completed in – just 136 days” said Błażej Hermanowicz of Hermanowicz Rewski Architects.

AdgarFit sports and leisure zone is unique on the Polish market – a high-performance sports zone within an office complex. AdgarFit comprises a Gravitan fitness centre with a gym, endless pool, an antigravity treadmill used for training by people who are overcoming injury or are very overweight, and computerized indoor bike stations where cyclists can take virtual rides round the world on their own bicycles. The zone is also home to Sport Guru, the sports and lifestyle store, Garmin showroom, PortaMedica, a sports medical clinic which offers the services of professional dieticians and physiotherapists, as well as three restaurants and a café. There is also plenty of newly-landscaped greenery and outside seating for people to relax or hold high-powered business meetings. The complex also houses the Ala Ma Kota kindergarden and an Event Room and Training Centre.

“Adgar bought this property about 18 months ago, drawn to its excellent location and huge potential. Our vision for the building was very ambitious and we are extremely proud to have accomplished a full overhaul in such a short time. Adgar Park West now has a spectacular five-storey glass atrium and the extra space created is home to AdgarFit – the first project of its kind in Poland,” said Eyal Litwin, CEO of Adgar in Poland. “AdgarFit will be a magnet, not only for our tenants, but also for sports enthusiasts from all over Warsaw. We want to bring Adgar Park West closer to all those who enjoy an active lifestyle, which is why it will be open to everybody, all year round,”  added Eyal Litwin.

The Opening Gala, hosted by journalist & triathlete Łukasz Grass, attracted over 200 participants with special guests including the legendary Polish cycling champion Czesław Lang and cyclist Rafał Majka. Among other guests were the board of Adgar Group, key figures of the real estate and financial market as well as a score of journalists. The Gala was preceded by a tour of the newly refurbished complex which included the glass atrium, the Event Room and Training Centre, the Garmin showroom and the Sport Guru store. The show was opened with a spectacular animated dance sequence performed by the Art Project Ballet ensemble and included a live gig by Kayah and Marcin Wyrostek. During the Gala, BMW Inchape handed over the keys to a BMW 2 Active Tourer to Eyal Litwin, CEO of Adgar Poland, to mark the sponsorship deal with Adgar. AdgarFit is now AdgarFit powered by BMW Inchcape. At the Gala a cheque for the sum raised during a charity sporting event (Biegiem na Pomoc – Run for Help) taking place just a few hours before was presented to representatives of the Synapsis Foundation for autistic kids – vice-president Joanna Grochowska and ambassador Piotr Nowak.

“Adgar Group sees excellent growth opportunities on the Polish market. We follow a strategy of adding value to well-situated projects and are rewarded with trust and loyalty from our tenants, who often stay with us for as long as 15 or even 20 years. Our “hands on” asset management approach and long-term investments are the root of our success. Continuing this strategy in Poland, where we have had a presence for 15 years now, we are extremely proud to have added  to our portfolio such bold and innovative projects as Adgar Park West and AdgarFit,” said Roy Gadish, CEO of the Adgar Group.
